Gender/Sex: male
Appearance: Aerous is slightly taller than an average human his age at 5'9". He is broad-shouldered and muscular but wiry more than stocky. His hair is black and hangs around his shoulders. His eyes are dark but not quite black. He looks human except for abnormally pale skin and elongated canines.
History: Aerous is the son of Asmodeus and a powerful sorceress who served as one of his priestesses. The child was meant to be his lieutenant on the Material Plane. Instead, a rival temple learned of the pregnancy and raised a vampire to attack her. She survived the attack but died in childbirth despite being attended by both priests and midwives. Their intervention was enough, however, to spare young Aerous the worst afflictions that come with being a dhampir but there was no hiding all of his undead traits. House Jentis, his mother's family, sold him to a gladiator school rather than be associated with a dhampir. Fighting came naturally to him. He was 40 when an Andoran spellblade saw him and recognized his potential in magic as well as his martial prowess. He bought the child-gladiator freedom and brought him to his school to train. While in Andor, he learned of Pharasma whom he worshipped for her hatred of the undead. Eventually, he became one of her inquisitors, mixing control of her domains with the arcane arts of a spellblade to hunt vampires and other undead. His first hint of his paternity came shortly before he came of age when he found himself developing powers from a domain Pharasma could not grant. He still has not met or had contact with Asmodeus, whether that is because the God-fiend has no use for a dhampir or because he has no use for a worshiper of another deity or yet some other reason is unknown.
Personality: Aerous tends to be very guarded around everyone except the man who bought his freedom who he calls Papa. It is often hard for him to trust since he cannot fully escape the prejudices against dhampirs. Once his trust and respect are won, he becomes an extremely loyal friend but also takes betrayal extremely personally. While at the gladiator school, he was encouraged to build a taste for blood. Despite decades of freedom, he has been unable to completely subdue that craving. He has learned to drink from the undead and evil creatures he hunts to keep from attacking everyone around him and to gain strength as he fights. He has a vicious temper when provoked but it generally takes a direct attack to himself or his adoptive father to anger him beyond control. He tends to show off when fighting and will often search out opportunities to display just what he is capable of with a weapon. He also has a very hard time backing down from a challenge.
